Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a new energy within Reiki which is profound, powerful and effective. Contained within it are many qualities – the most noticeable being:
- an increased sense of being loved and nurtured
- feeling totally safe and supported
- being divinely guided
- being purified in the sense of cleansed on all levels
- being deeply healed
- being empowered to fulfil guidance and follow your life path with confidence
- releasing judgements and negativity
The use of the word Holy does not have any religious meaning. The word holy comes from the old English word ‘hal’ meaning whole and complete – ‘hal’ is also the root of the word ‘healthy’. This is an energy that helps us to become whole and complete, and to recognise and follow our life purpose with ease and grace.
Brief History
In January 2014, during a session with a spiritual advisor, the Holy Fire energy came to William Lee Rand. William was given the Holy Fire symbol and how to use it. William was scheduled to teach a Reiki Master class the next day on Maui where he lives. He was guided to teach with the Holy Fire energy straight away and to give the Holy Fire symbol in the Reiki Master training.
The attunement to Holy Fire at master level is called an ignition. The students received the ignition outside as it was a warm sunny day. One student wanted to know if anything had really happened so she asked for a physical sign. Suddenly, a strong wind came like a mini-tornado whirling leaves around. The wind encircled the chair in which William had been sitting for the ignition, lifted it up about 20 feet into the air and shot it about 100 feet across the yard. The student went to get the chair and said that it was radiant with energy.

The Holy Fire energy is evolving quickly with Holy Fire II coming to William in late 2015 following his open heart surgery. In Holy Fire II, the attunements at levels I, II and Advanced Reiki Training (ART) are called placements. In the placement, students are guided into a meditation experience where they receive the Reiki Holy Fire energy and are given the ability to channel the Reiki energy. Placements are a new style of attunement that are powerful and effective. Attunements are the wondrous process that enable us to connect to and channel the Reiki energy at the various levels that we learn.

I feel blessed to have trained as an Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master and Karuna Holy Fire Reiki Master with William Lee Rand in Queenstown in January 2016.
The Holy Fire energy is an integral part of the Reiki sessions and training that I offer. The qualities of the Holy Fire are present and sensed at all levels of Usui Reiki training.
Taking the Holy Fire Reiki training with William has been a wonderful next step in my own personal Reiki journey.
